The village of Dragash Voyvoda is located in a picturesque valley, 3 km from the Danube River, 10 km east of Nikopol and 36 km west of Belene, within the Persina Nature Park. Towards the middle of the 19th century, the village was founded under the name "Ermenlui". This is the name of several Armenian families living two kilometres southeast of the village. Along the valley of the small village river, which still passes through the village called Ermenluyska bara, there were a dozen mills-Bareshnitsi, owned by rich Turkish beys during the Ottoman rule, and after the liberation - of the local rich from the Radolov and Yorgov families and others.
