The village of Lyubenovo is famous for the historical place Manastira, which is located south of the village. It is named after the local partisan Lyuben Dochev from September 26, 1949, when in fact its inhabitants moved to their current location. Before this year, they lived in the nearby hills, and the village was called Murshovitsa. The old name is associated with a great plague epidemic, which actually divided the former settlement of Tri kladentsi, located a few kilometres south. There is nothing there nowadays.
