The village of Vabel is located on the Nikopol plateau. According to historical data, the village dates back to the settlement of the Slavs in our lands. There are two legends about the origin of the name: There was a spring above the village and in order not to muddy the water, people put a log in the ground. They called it the Stem. Gradually, the name changed to "Vabel" /written by Marin Boltadjiev, teacher/. In the other legend, there was a place opposite the village called Sreshta, where many mushrooms were born. People began to call her Gabel, and later Vabel.
